Research Highlights
I am a Co-PI on the SpaceTech Scholars DHSI Department of Education Grant - 2023-26. Postsecondary Education Grant #P031S210060. $1,321,000.
I consulted on Civil Case: Spencer v. Washington State, Department of Corrections in April/May of 2023 for the Plaintiff.
In 2022, I co-edited a special edition in the journal, Trends in Organized Crime titled, "When Prison Gangs Become Organized Crime: Studying Protection Arrangements and their Consequences.”
In 2017-18, I was awarded the Classroom to Career, Roadrunner Retention Fund: ($50,000) Co-PIs Rebecca Trammell and Jesse Lunsford to create a peer advising program that served six departments.
My interviews took place in eight prisons across two states. I interviewed inmates and prison staff at all security levels (minimum - maximum) including protective custody units.
In addition to my prison work, I co-authored articles about Restorative Justice in Yemen, social movement organizations, and teaching STEM students.
